Terms of use for interacting with NSW Trustee and Guardian on Social Media
Introduction to terms of use
We welcome your comments on NSW Trustee and Guardian’s social media, and ask that you show courtesy, respect. Do not use the platform to abuse, provide offensive or inappropriate content for unlawful purposes.
Due to privacy laws NSW Trustee and Guardian cannot respond to enquiries relating to existing financial management or guardianship matters. To preserve the integrity of NSW Trustee and Guardian’s decision making, replies will not be provided on any aspects of pending, current or finalised customer matters or matters before the courts, and comments will be deleted relating to such matters.

NSW Trustee and Guardian makes reasonable efforts to monitor and moderate content posted on its social media platforms but cannot always respond in real-time to answer questions. The platforms are monitored during business hours, and responses to comments will only be provided during business hours (excluding public holidays).

The following information is the terms of use for people viewing and interacting with NSW Trustee and Guardian social media pages, and users must comply with these terms.
Right to review and delete comments
NSW Trustee and Guardian reserves the right to review, hide, or delete any comments it deems inappropriate. This includes abusive or hurtful comments about another person who has posted, another participant or departmental employees, which may include:
- inappropriate language such as swearing, or discriminatory comments that are racial, ethnic, disability, age, religion or gender related
- personal attacks or defamatory statements or comments and negative personal or untrue comments
- views that impersonate or falsely represent any other person or falsely state or misrepresent affiliation with a person or entity
- irrelevant and redundant comments to the topic being discussed and spam such as promotion of events, groups, websites, organisations and programs not related to or affiliated with NSW Trustee and Guardian
- comments that violate the privacy of NSW Trustee and Guardian staff, members, customers or stakeholders
- details relating to lodging complaints, seeking legal advice or discussing any NSW Trustee and Guardian matters that are pending, current or finalised or would break regulation relating to non-publication information that may identify a represented person
- content that may or would constitute a criminal offence or give rise to civil liability, or that otherwise violates any local, provincial, national or international law or regulation in the world (or encourage others to do so)
- comments that are political in nature as NSW Trustee and Guardian is unable to respond to commentary about political parties and personalities.
- an infringement of intellectual property rights, so please respect and acknowledge original creators when sharing content.
- a violation of this site’s terms and conditions.
Consequence of persistent inappropriate use:
- Persistent inappropriate use of NSW Trustee and Guardian’s social media platforms will lead to the user being blocked from the platforms and/or reported to the platform's administrator for breach of their terms of use.
Privacy Protection:
Users of this social media page are asked to protect their own privacy and that of others by not including personal information about yourself or any NSW Trustee and Guardian customers, represented persons or employees.
