Framed artworks in consultation rooms of the new hospital tower – An Inhabited Garden by Nicole Law.
About the art
- Medium: Acrylic printing inks on paper.
- Artist: Nicole Law.
- Year: 2021.
We came together to make this series of collages - nurses, patients, community members, staff, family and friends of this hospital. To show that we are part of something bigger, that individual effort can create something more than the sum of its parts.
Artists with experience and without, we created without judgement, in collaboration and with open minds and hearts. Together we explored texture and colour and movement to make beautiful these spaces of healing and grieving, of trauma and new life.
“The world is so empty if one thinks only of mountains, rivers and cities; but to know someone who thinks and feels with us, and who, though distant, is close to us in spirit, this makes the earth for us an inhabited garden.” Goethe
Those who came together to make this work are now part of the inhabited garden, thinking and feeling in spirit with those who need closeness and community, support and solace during their time at this hospital.
