About the facility
The Royal Flying Doctor Service runs General Practice clinics each Monday and Friday.
Registered nurses provide on-call emergency care and ambulance response after hours. Patients requiring hospitalisation are usually transported to Broken Hill.
Primary health services and in hours emergencies are provided by registered nurses. An Aboriginal Health Education Officer is available to support and provide primary health care to the Ivanhoe community.
Visiting specialists are usually supplied by Maari Ma Aboriginal Health Corporation and outreach services from Broken Hill (Far West LHD). Other services listed below are outreach services from RFDS, Maari Ma or the Far West LHD based in Broken Hill.
Note: Many services fly in with the RFDS. Due to weather conditions and unforeseen issues, services can be cancelled from time to time.
The Health Service was originally built in the 1960s, and the current facility was opened in 2015.
