NSW 24-Hour Economy Commissioner Michael Rodrigues will visit these regions in May for a series of Regional Roadshows to preview the capacity-building programs now available to local businesses and district organisations in these areas.
The Regional Roadshows will highlight the Uptown District Acceleration Program, a world-first precinct capacity-building program, and the Local Government Night-Time Economy Toolkit, a resource created to help councils build and manage their night-time economies.
The Uptown Accelerator recently opened for applications across 43 LGAs including Illawarra-Shoalhaven, Lower Hunter and Greater Newcastle City, and Central Coast.
The events will provide councils, industry and the community with a chance to learn more about the Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner and its programs.
Participants can also take part in workshops, networking opportunities and roundtable discussions.
The Roadshows will take place on 7 May in Newcastle, 9 May in Gosford and 14 May in Wollongong. These events will be followed by a Wollongong Open Mike Night on 28 May.

24-Hour Economy Commissioner Michael Rodrigues said:
“We know that people in regional areas across the state want more going-out options closer to home, and we want to support councils and the night-time industry to achieve that.
“Our programs are designed to provide operators with the skills they need to highlight, enhance and build on the offerings available in their district.
“It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach we want to support districts across these regions to harness the things that make them unique and work toward creating safe, vibrant and viable night-time precincts.”
