Major assets and property disposals
Clause 6(2) of the Government Information (Public Access) Regulation 2009 requires that NSW Government Departments make publicly available a list of the Department’s major assets, other than land holdings, appropriately classified and highlighting major acquisitions during the previous financial year and the total number and total value of properties disposed of by the Department during the previous financial year
The below lists the relevant information for the 2021/22 financial year.

The heritage listed Arts Exchange is an operations hub for Sydney’s major festivals and key arts organisations. In addition to their office space each organisation has use of shared work areas, meeting rooms and facilities. The bringing together of organisations with a similar focus in this way promotes efficiencies and innovation through the sharing of ideas and resources.
Home to a large concentration of businesses dedicated to serving the NSW film and television industry, as well as the theatre and arts sectors.
The contemporary arts centre at Carriageworks was a major redevelopment completed by the NSW Government in 2007. Carriageworks is a heritage building located in the old Eveleigh Rail Yards, within the emerging Redfern Waterloo precinct.
The Darlinghurst Gaol site is a former Australian prison located in Darlinghurst, NSW. This heritage listed site is managed by the National Art School and is used as a tertiary level art school acclaimed for its studio-based learning model.
A heritage building on Sydney Harbour in Woolloomooloo, close to the Art Gallery of NSW, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the galleries and colleges of East Sydney and Paddington. The building provides office accommodation, gallery, and artists’ studio space.
The Parachute Ground provides affordable storage, workshop, office and rehearsal spaces for the arts and cultural sector. There are five buildings onsite including The Red Box physical theatre rehearsal facility.
A heritage building located in Callan Park at Rozelle. It is home to Writing NSW which provides literary resources and support and facilitates workshops, book launches, literacy events and lectures.
A heritage building located at Walsh Bay and acts as a home for the best Australian and international performing arts.
The heritage listed Walsh Bay Arts Precinct is a premium 21st century space for making, performing, and experiencing theatre, dance, and music.
The new museum site at Parramatta* is currently under construction for a 30,000 square metre state of the art facility to deliver international exhibitions, education, and community programs.
* The asset will be transferred from the Department to the Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences to hold once construction is completed.
