Financial support to cover strata management costs of Project Remediate
Owners corporations with combustible cladding are eligible for a payment of up to $15,000 each to help with strata management costs of participating in Project Remediate.
Key information
- An owners corporation that joins Project Remediate can claim a one-off payment to help with the strata management costs of participating in the program.
- It will become eligible for the payment once the loan agreement and remediation contract have been executed.
- The payment is calculated by reference to the number of residential lots in a strata scheme.
How the strata payment is calculated
The amount of the strata payment will depend on whether a strata scheme is part of a building management committee (BMC) and is calculated by reference to the number of residential lots in the strata scheme.
If a strata scheme is not part of a BMC and has:
- 70 or fewer residential lots, it will receive a payment of $10,000; or
- More than 70 residential lots, it will receive a payment calculated at $142.50 per residential lot but not exceeding a maximum payment of $15,000.
If a strata scheme is part of a BMC, it will receive a payment calculated at $142.50 per residential lot but with a minimum payment of $5,000 and a maximum payment of $15,000.
A residential lot does not include a garage or car space lot, a storage lot, a utility lot, or a lot used for a non-residential purpose such as a shop or an office.
Please note that GST is not payable on this amount and should not be included in your calculation.
