Cladding systems in an external wall of a building play an important role not only in relation to fire-safety but also in performing critical functions including thermal insulation, weatherproofing, acoustic performance, condensation, and resistance to structural loads including wind, as well as aesthetics.
In addition to evidence of fire testing, please provide data/information to demonstrate how the material/system meets the applicable NCC requirements in the following areas:
- Thermal performance (or thermal rating)
- Condensation
(refer Part F6: Condensation Management of NCC 2019 Volume One Amendment 1) - Weatherproofing
(refer Part F1: Damp and Weatherproofing of NCC 2019 Volume One Amendment 1, especially FP1.4 for external walls) - Structural integrity particularly wind loading
(refer Part B1: Structural Provisions of NCC 2019 Volume One Amendment
This information in relation to the NCC requirements is essential to assess the overall performance of the cladding system including the cavity barrier and mechanical fixing.
