Prof Elizabeth Hill
Elizabeth is a Professor at The University of Sydney and Deputy Director of the Gender Equality in Working Life research initiative. She has led research on the future of women, work and care in Australia.
As the Professor of Political Economy at The University of Sydney, Elizabeth Hill is a leading
researcher on the future of gender and work in Australia and the Asian region with a strong history of policy and research impact.
She has extensive research experience on women’s working lives, collaborating on research into gender equality, work and care with leading national and international institutions, including the International Labour Organisation, UN Women, APEC and the OECD.
Elizabeth is the Deputy Director of the Gender Equality in Working Life Research Initiative. This is a multidisciplinary research initiative identifying drivers and obstacles to gender equality at key transition points in working life and practical workplace interventions.
She is also co-convenor of the landmark Body@Work Project, developing new research evidence on workplace policy supports for reproductive wellbeing and gender equality. In 2005 Elizabeth founded the influential Work + Family Policy Roundtable, a research network of Australia’s leading scholars on work, care and family policy.
Elizabeth has served as a non-executive director on various non-profit Boards and is an experienced media commentator and advisor to government, unions, and business.
