Overview of this event
Tocal Homestead presents 'They Call Me Blacket' by Todd Fuller at Tocal Field Days. This immersive animation explores Blacket Barn's history through Fuller's signature drawing-animation style and storytelling. View the exhibition at Stone Barn Stables as part of Arts Upper Hunter's, This Here Then Now, project, a Creative Valleys initiative.
The exhibition explores the poetic narrative of this architectural treasure, designed by renowned church architect Edmund Blacket and rebuilt after a devastating fire in 1867. Fuller's work weaves together the lives and stories connected to this historic structure in a visually captivating experience.
Set in the Stone Barn Stables during Tocal Field Days, this exhibition exemplifies Fuller's decade-long practice of exploring themes of place, identity, and community through animation. This exhibition is supported by the Australian Government's Regional Arts Fund, NSW Government, and C.B. Alexander Foundation.
Join artist Todd Fuller at Blacket's Barn at Tocal Homestead for a discussion of his project. This ticket is for the artist talk only and does not include access to Tocal Field Days. Separate tickets for Tocal Field Days must be purchased if you wish to attend the wider event.
