Overview of this event
Slow Food is an International organisation that often features other cuisines to learn more about food cultures. Local member Claude was born in Egypt and remembers the dishes her mother made. She has put together an exciting menu.
The starters will include traditional dips, Egyptian bread, pickles, Ladies Fingers, and Lahma bi Ajeen (like a mini pizza, but different!) The loaded buffet table will feature salads which will include eggplant, spinach, okra, cucumber, yogurt and pine nuts. Who doesn't like garlic chicken skewers, kibbeh, stuffed vine leaves and the lentil with rice and fried onion dish.
The sweet ending will be Mahalabia and Basbousa plus halawa and coffee—also a chance to try your hand at Backgammon.
It is a BYO drink and glass event.
This event is proudly supported by the Shoalhaven Food Network
