Mortels Sheepskin Factory is a multi-award winning Australian owned family business in the Hunter Region, two hours north of Sydney, and is the oldest continuously operating ugg boot factory in the world. Mortels is a place to explore history, food, and culture. Purpose built Australiana shearing shed style premises and fully guided tours are conducted through the factory where visitors can experience the sights and sounds of a fully operational manufacturing plant. Founded in 1958, Mortels manufacturing base is located at Thornton, and retail their locally manufactured product from showrooms in both Thornton and Warners Bay. Mortels only distribute in Australia through their own retail outlets to preserve their brand and the quality of Australian manufacturing.
