Located atop Griffith's Scenic Hill, the nine megalitre drinking water tower is brought to life with a striking mural by renowned mural artist Heesco. Incorporating themes of water, multiculturalism, agriculture, manufacturing, and Indigenous heritage, this eye-catching artwork celebrates Griffith's rich and diverse community.
With so much fresh produce being grown in this area, the top-down view of a kitchen bench covered in food shows connection of people from different cultures.
The goanna, the trail marks and the three main rivers in the area [the Wambool (Macquarie), the Calare (Lachlan), and the Murrumbidgee] represent the local Indigenous community.
The 9ML Drinking Water Reservoir on Scenic Hill was constructed circa 1950.
Visitors are encouraged to use the Pioneer Park carpark for viewing this impressive artwork. For the safety of all, everyone is reminded to be aware of their surroundings and to stand well clear of the road when taking photographs of the mural.
