Installation of sediment monitoring devices

The works
Transport for NSW advises that sediment monitoring devices (aka Depth of Disturbance rods) will be installed at the entrance to Botany Bay near Kurnell and will remain in place until late 2027.
Navigation advice
The rods will be placed to monitor sediment changes in the seagrass beds along the sheltered coast of Kurnell.
The rods will be installed will approximately 50cm protruding from the bed sediment. There are made of fibreglass and are capped at the exposed end. They will be located in 2-3m of depth.
Vessel operators are advised to exercise caution, navigate with care and avoid anchoring in these locations.
