Installation of power lines over the Murray River
Where
When
The Works
Transport for NSW advises vessel operators that Project Energy Connect will be installing power lines over the Murray River at Trentham Cliffs, in the vicinity of the 908 kilometre river marker, between Friday, 2 August 2024 and Tuesday, 3 September 2024 (inclusive).
Exclusion zone
Due to the potential to affect the safety of navigation, an Exclusion Zone (‘the Zone’) will be established on the navigable waters of the Murray River in Trentham Cliffs, resulting in an intermittent full river closure between Friday, 2 August 2024 and Tuesday, 3 September 2024 (inclusive). The Zone will be located in the vicinity of the the 908 kilometre river marker, which is approximately 800 metres downstream of the Red Cliffs boat ramp.
The Zone will be indicated by the presence of land-based signage and yellow special mark aqua buoys placed within the channel at the upstream and downstream extremities, indicating that the channel is blocked. The buoys will be lit by a flashing yellow light displayed between dusk and dawn.
Control vessels will be present throughout, to monitor and maintain the exclusion zone and will, at times deemed safe and appropriate, periodically authorise the passage of vessels through the exclusion zone. Vessel operators should expect a delay of between 15 and 20 minutes to their journey in this regard.
No unauthorised persons or vessels are permitted to enter the exclusion zone.
For further information in relation to these works, you can contact the Project Energy Connect hotline which is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week on 1800 490 666.
