Navigation Warning
Transport for NSW advises vessel operators that due to recent weather events and tidal and current movements impacting the Wagonga Inlet, Narooma, the depth of the marked navigable channel south of Peters Point, in the vicinity of channel markers 026 (Starboard) and 033 (Port), has been reduced.
Depending on tidal movements, the available water depth in parts of the marked channel could be less than 300mm. A lit Yellow Special Mark aqua buoy with signage indicating “Shallow Water” has temporarily been installed in the vicinity, to alert vessel operators to the changed waterway operating conditions, with the buoy to remain in place until conditions abate.
Vessel operators should exercise caution when navigating in the vicinity, keep a proper lookout, travel at a safe speed and comply with all placed buoyage and signage.
