Navigation Warning
The Murray–Darling Basin Authority (MDBA), in partnership with Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) will begin a partial draw down of Lake Mulwala at Mulwala commencing on Monday, 13 May 2024 to enable essential maintenance works to be undertaken. The water level will gradually recede over 5 weeks until it reaches a level approximately 1.5 metres below “normal” operating level and will remain at that level for approximately one month.
Due to the reduction in water depth navigation aids used to define channels and mark hazards may be out of position and water depths and navigational channels may change. The use of boat ramps and access points may also be affected.
Vessel operators are advised to exercise extreme caution when navigating on lake Mulwala during this period. This includes keeping a proper lookout, travelling at a safe speed and monitoring water depths.
For further information and updates see News & Updates - Goulburn Murray Water (g-mwater.com.au), or contact GMW Media at media@gmwater.com.au or 0438 216 002.
