Navigation Warning
Transport for NSW advises vessel operators that due to recent substantial rain impacting coastal areas of NSW, there are a significant number of navigation hazards in affected waterways, including the Shoalhaven River.
These hazards include submerged and floating debris and strong currents, which means dangerous conditions for boating. Navigation aids used to define channels and mark hazards may have been washed away and/or be out of position. Water depths and navigational channels may have changed.
Vessel operators are strongly encouraged to avoid using affected waterways until conditions abate. In circumstances where this advice cannot be adhered to, operators are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution when navigating including keeping a proper lookout, travelling at a safe speed, monitoring water depths and avoiding strong flows.
This navigation warning remains in place until further notice.
