Vessel operators are advised that the South Australian Department for Environment and Water will be deploying a water monitoring buoy on the navigable waters of the Murray River at Rufus, approximately six kilometres downstream of Lock 7 from Wednesday 1 June 2022 until further notice.
Navigation warning
The water monotirong buoy will be deployed on the navigable waters of the Murray River at Rufus, approximately six kilometres downstream of Lock 7 (located at approx. 34°1110834 and 141°9057136).
The buoy will be yellow in colour and will be lit at times of restricted visibility, displaying a yellow light with characteristics of a single flash every two seconds.
Vessel operators are advised to exercise caution when navigating in the vicinity of the buoy, especially during times of restricted visibility.
Vessel operators are also reminded that unauthorised use or interference with the buoy, such as securing a vessel, is an offence and penalties apply.
