Navigation warning
Due to significant flooding and resulting strong dangerous surface flows in the Manilla River catchment upstream of Split Rock Dam, the Water NSW fixed safety buoy line that warns boaters of the spillway hazard 100 metres downstream has been damaged.
The red buoy line which identifies the “No Unathourised Vessel Zone” remains in place and vessel operators are reminded it is an offence to enter this zone downstream to the spillway at all times.
Due to debris and changed conditions vessel operators are strongly encouraged to avoid using the waterway until the current conditions and flooding subsides. In circumstances where this advice cannot be adhered to, vessel operators are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution when navigating in these waterways including monitoring the available depth of water levels and avoiding strong flows.
This navigation warning remains in place until further notice.
