Unmarked hazards and altered riverbed conditions reducing charted depths
Where
When
Navigation warning
Transport for NSW advises vessel operators that due to recent major floods, altered riverbed conditions exist in the Hastings River in the Wauchope area. Deposits of gravel has resulted in variation to the Charted Depths resulting in reduced depth to less than 1.0 metres LAT.
Further, there are significant unmarked navigation hazards including submerged and floating debris, trees and shallowing, which, combined with dangerous currents means dangerous conditions for recreational boating.
Vessel operators are advised to exercise extreme caution when navigating in these waterways including monitoring the available depth of water.
This navigation warning remains in place until the natural recovery of the area occurs.
