Replacement of lead lights with sector lead lights
Where

The works
Transport for NSW advises vessel operators that in order to improve navigation across the bar into the entrance of the Macleay River and upstream to Rainbow Reach at South West Rocks, the current lead lights are being upgraded to sector lead lights.
Navigation warning
A sector light is a fixed aid to navigation that displays a light of different colours and/or rhythms over designated arcs. The colour of the light provides directional information to aid navigation of vessels. The safest bearing is 240.5 and is the centreline channel indicated by a white light. The light remains visible at day and night.
Vessels should log on with Marine Rescue and seek advice before crossing the Macleay River entrance. Vessel operators are reminded to be extra vigilant and exercise caution when operating in the area.
This navigation warning remains in place until further notice.
