As a landholder you're responsible for controlling pest animals on your land and preventing their spread.
Local Land Services provides landholders with training and technical advice, and can issue baits to help manage pest animals.
How to order and collect baits
1. Find out where to collect the baits in your region
There are bait collection points across each Local Land Service region in NSW.
See your local regional bait collection page (as follows)
Or call your local biosecurity officer for alternate arrangements.
Our offices will guide you on the best collection date.
2. Plan ahead for collection day
At least 3 days before the collection date, call the biosecurity officer at your pick-up location.
Our staff will step you through the essentials including letting you know about local baiting programs and subsided baits.
Fresh meat baits and commercially prepared Foxoff baits are available.
You must bring your current certification card.
3. Collect your baits
On the day it’s vital you have a safe way of transporting your baits home. They must not be in the vicinity of children, animals or foodstuff. Many landholders lock them in a toolbox on the tray of the ute.
See our Vertebrate pest animal page for further guidance on specific pest animals.
