An on demand ferry service will be trialled for six months and connect Barangaroo with wharves at the Fish Markets, Blackwattle Bay and Pirrama Park.
The service will be available between 7am and 10pm on weekdays and 8:30am and 7:30pm on weekends. A single trip will cost $7.60 for adults and $3.80 for children, students and concessions.
The route will be serviced by a new 12-metre MiniCat that seats 43 customers and has an overall capacity for 60 customers.
Customers will be able to book a service either using the Tranzer app at one of the kiosks located at the wharves or over the phone. Once booked, customers will be provided with a 15-minute window for when the ferry service will arrive.
Minister for Transport Andrew Constance said the Bays Precinct is popular with both tourists and regular transport customers.
“The wharves selected for this trial are not currently serviced by regular ferries so the new on demand service will help to connect this area to a major transport hub,” Mr Constance said.
