Clive Miller
Clive is CEO of Support Act, a music charity that provides crisis relief and mental health and wellbeing support to musicians, crew and music workers.
Life in the music industry can be challenging at the best of times, with statistics showing that music and arts workers suffer from anxiety and depression at rates that are 5-10 times higher than the rest of society.
There is a strong need to help build mentally healthy workplaces within the music industry, which is comprised of many small businesses and sole traders who often lack access to structured and sector specific resources.
Support Act seeks to play a leadership role through development of prevention, education and training programs including its free phone counselling service, the Support Act Wellbeing Helpline.
“I am honoured to be part of the ambassador program and to participate in the exchange of ideas and information with Government and others that will help to reduce stigma and encourage a view of mental health among artists/musicians, crew and music workers that promotes awareness, education and training and positive help-seeking behaviours.”
