What is the training program?
The ALRA Education and Training Program aims to transform the current land claims process. It uplifts understanding, practice and knowledge of the ALRA in Government agencies who process land claims.
The NSW Auditor-General released a performance report on the Aborginal land claims process. This program is a result of this.
View the report here.
One of the recommendations of the report was to create an education program with NSWALC. It should improve understanding of The Act and include experts from the Registrar and DPE.
It should include tailored education for state agencies and the local government sector. This should show how their activities can impact the land claim processes and the intent of the Act.
Learning outcomes
Participants will have an understanding of the ALRA and land claims process. They will have understanding of ways to achieve the best possible outcomes for local Aboriginal communities.
