Bail Policy

This policy outlines Youth Justice NSW responsibilities regarding bail. Youth Justice NSW provides remand intervention services and support for young people to comply with their bail conditions, as well as supervision of young people on bail.

The Bail Policy provides a framework for Youth Justice employees as they work with young people, the courts, the police, and other stakeholders regarding bail. It provides information to help employees fulfil Youth Justice responsibilities regarding:

  • cultural responsivity
  • physical and mental health services
  • remand intervention  and accommodation
  • community supervision.
