This factsheet presents key findings from the 2015 Young People in Custody Health Survey for Aboriginal young people compared to non-Aboriginal young people in custody. Among the key findings, the survey found that Aboriginal young people were more likely to have a parent in prison (67%) compared to non-Aboriginal young people (37%). Similarly, 90% had been in custody prior to the current custodial period, a significantly higher proportion than that among non-Aboriginal young people (77%).
