Justice Health NSW provides health care services to adults and young people in contact with the criminal and forensic mental health systems in NSW. It’s frontline staff of nurses, doctors and allied health professionals directly help more than 30,000 patients each year.
“We work on the premise that everyone deserves access to quality health care,” Chief Executive Wendy Hoey said.
“Our patients have some of the most complex health needs in our state’s health system,” Chief Executive Hoey said. “The majority either have a mental health illness, some form of drug or alcohol dependency, childhood trauma or disability – or a mixture of these.”
“By addressing their health needs during their time in custody, we can hopefully increase their chances of a successful future when they return to their community.”
Together for Healthier Tomorrows outlines the significant level of transformation planned in the areas of digital health, clinical service delivery, workforce and partnerships.
