Hospital visitor guidelines
Nepean Blue Mountains LHD welcomes visitors who follow the below guidelines:
- Each patient can have up to 4 visitors per day
- Visiting hours are between 10am until 8pm every day
- Visitors must:
- not visit if they have symptoms of COVID-19 or other respiratory infections such as a cough, fever, sore throat or runny nose in the last 7 days
- not have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the last 7 days
We encourage patients and families to speak with staff for more information as the number of visitors and visiting hours may vary between some wards and services.
In areas with patients at higher risk or receiving higher levels of care, or in the case of other local concerns, there may be additional restrictions and precautions in place.
If the person you are wishing to visit is currently COVID-19 positive, your request will need to be clinically assessed and some restrictions may apply.

Women are encouraged to have 2 support people in the Birth Unit.
Parents or carers are welcome 24 hours. One parent or carer can stay at the beside overnight.
All other family and visitors are welcome during visiting hours, 10am-8pm every day.
Two visitors or support persons welcome.
Our staff talk directly to families and loved ones about specific arrangements, including virtual visits and in-person visits for some patients.
Nepean Cancer Care Centre permits two visitors or carers per bedside who must be 16 years or over.
Parents can visit 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.
Grandparents can visit between the hours of 11am-12pm and 6pm-8pm. A grandparent cannot visit without a parent present.
There is only to be two people at the bedside at a time, one of whom must be a parent.
Up to four visitors or support persons are welcome between 10am-8pm every day.

Our Hospitals have visiting hours between 10am until 8pm every day.
Visiting hours and the number of visitors may vary for some wards and services.

Portland Tabulam Multi-Purpose Service
Additional COVID-19 precautions and restrictions apply to aged care facilities.
All visitors will be required to confirm that they have no respiratory, cold or flu symptoms and have not recently tested positive to COVID-19.
Transport and parking
You may be able to access free or low-cost transport and subsidised taxi fares to help you get to and from health services.

Parking
There are dedicated mobility parking spaces available across the Nepean Blue Mountains LHD. Please correctly display the relevant NSW Government or other Australian government-issued mobility parking permit when using these car spaces.
Free off-street parking is available at most of our facilities including Lithgow Hospital and Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital.
Paid multistorey car parking is available at Nepean Hospital. Find out more about Nepean Hospital Parking.
Limited parking may also be available on surrounding streets.
Smoke-free policy
All our hospitals and locations are smoke-free. Smoking anywhere on the grounds may result in a $300 fine. View our policy.
