Pacific Highway upgrade Wyong
What’s this about?
The Australian Government and NSW Government are investing $420 million to upgrade the Pacific Highway through the Wyong Town Centre.
The project will provide 2 lanes in each direction from Johnson Road at Tuggerah through Wyong Town Centre and replace the Wyong River Road bridge with a new 4 lane bridge.
The upgrade will improve traffic flow, travel times and safety for all road users as well as provide for future improvements to the public transport network.
The project will also improve connectivity to and across the Pacific Highway and Main North Railway, with improved intersections and a new wider and longer bridge over the railway at Rose Street.
Last year the Australian Government announced it was accelerating $80 million in funding to enable work to progress.
Over the past 18 months, Transport for NSW has been progressing key activities required to plan for delivery of the project including traffic counts and analysis, extensive geotechnical and contamination investigations, meeting with key stakeholders and reviewing key elements of the project design.
Transport for NSW is proposing amendments and improvements to the concept design.
