Hunter Water Regulation remake

The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is seeking feedback on the remake of the Hunter Water Regulation 2015.

What’s this about?

The objective of the regulation is to support Hunter Water in its role providing services for:

  • drinking water
  • wastewater
  • recycled water 
  • stormwater.

The regulation also impowers Hunter Water to implement water restrictions.

The regulation must be remade before Sunday 1 September 2024 to provide Hunter Water with the necessary authorisation's for carrying out its key functions under the Hunter Water Act 1991.
