What’s this about?

Transport for NSW is seeking feedback on the proposal to remove the left turn from Captain Cook Drive into Cawarra Road for vehicles over 13 metres travelling eastbound on Captain Cook Drive.

Removing the left turn into Cawarra Road from Captain Cook Drive will stop heavy vehicles driving over the pedestrian pathway and ramps.

It is proposed heavy vehicles over 13 metres in length travelling towards Cawarra Road would continue 1.2kms on Captain Cook Drive and use the roundabout at Gannons Road to make a U-turn and travel 1.2kms back to Cawarra Road. Motorists can then turn right into Cawarra Road using the traffic lights.

Work will involve installing two ‘No Left Turn – Vehicles Under 13m Excepted’ signs for vehicles turning left from Captain Cook Drive into Cawarra Road.
