What’s this about?

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is considering granting a licence to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) (ABN 65 377 938 320). This licence would allow the non-exclusive use of the part of the Green Cape Lighthouse and generator room.

The specific purposes of the licence are:

  • relocating the navigation equipment from the temporary tower to the Green Cape Lighthouse
  • operating and maintaining the lighthouse beacon and associated equipment to provide marine navigation assistance.

The temporary tower will be removed.

The proposed licence term is for up to 22 years and 10 months.

DCCEEW wants to hear from you about the proposed licence. Your feedback will help us decide about whether to grant the proposed licence.
