About the Project

The Begnell Field Revitalisation project will transform a declining facility into a fit-for-purpose park with a quality sportsground and modern amenities. The project will deliver improvements to Begnell Oval and surrounds to address major drainage and flooding issues, declining amenities, safety and vandalism concerns, accessibility issues and inclusion barriers for women.

Project Scope

The project will deliver:

  • Upgrades to the sportsground and sports oval including field elevation, returfing, and installation of drainage, irrigation and lighting
  • Upgrades to amenities building, external building and canteen
  • Upgrades to female change rooms including a new female umpire's room
  • Upgrade of existing accessible toilet to include baby change facilities‍
  • Installation of new two-level function and viewing space
  • Upgrades to roadways and pedestrian paths with lighting
  • Installation of gates, fencing and wayfinding
