About the Project

The Shepherds Wharf Ministry Centre and Community Hub Project delivers an expenaded facility for the local parish to continue its regular activities and work with the community. The project features a full internal refurbishment to deliver a multipurpose ministry centre with a first-floor worship space and associated amenities, administration offices and an outdoor playground.

Project Scope

The project features:

  • Overall facilities (auditorium, offices, meeting spaces, and playground) that make it easy to engage members, visitors and the community and partners.
  • Welcoming orientation and inclusive signage
  • Colourful safe spaces for children and families
  • A range of learning spaces that support creativity and collaboration
  • Seasonally flexible passive and active outdoor areas, with easy movement between indoor and outdoor spaces
  • Quiet spaces for reflection and important life events: weddings; baptisms; funerals
  • Spaces for preparing and serving refreshments (including pre-prepared meals)
  • Accessibility for all ages, including those with disabilities and is culturally sensitive
  • Flexible workspaces for staff, volunteers and ministry partners
  • Spaces for creative and performing arts, with quality sound and acoustics
  • Storage space and amenities (toilets and showers; baby change facilities)
