Light Horse Park Embellishment Project

Lighthorse Park - Liverpool

About the Project

The Light Horse Park Embellishment Project will have a transformational role in reactivating the river frontage. The city of Liverpool is built adjacent to the river and Light Horse Park, but access to both are difficult leading to severe under-usage. With urban heat rising and a growing population demanding cool spaces for rest and recreation, the park will play a vital role in meeting this demand.

  • Multi-purpose courts will be provided overlooking the lawn
  • New shelters and picnic facilities and fitness equipment
  • New Light Horse Bridge memorial space in the north
  • Waterfront seating terrace overlooking the river, providing a place for rest and reflection
  • A series of river front stairs for informal seating aligned along the riverbank
