About the Project
The John Street Public Domain Upgrade and Activation Project will transform the area into a creative, community precinct where community spaces and facilities are integrated within the public domain. New road crossings will give pedestrians priority and safety, while still affording vehicular access. This unified streetscape will serve as a civic street, transport hub, or cultural event space.
Project Scope
The project features:
- Three new raised pedestrian crossings
- Travel lanes to safely accommodate cycling and vehicular traffic
- Stormwater drainage
- Additional footpath space
- Additional and improved public seating
- New lighting
- Public artwork
