Phase 2 of the NSW Landcare Enabling Program 2023-2027 is targeted toward supporting Landcare NSW to provide enabling support for host organisations successful in phase 1 of the grant program.

Program objective
To provide financial support to Landcare NSW including the employment of centralised Program staff and enabling services to support host organisations successful in phase 1 of the Program.
This support is expected to assist the capacity and capability of Landcare groups and networks in NSW, increasing self-sustenance and reducing reliance on direct NSW Government funding in the medium to longer term.
Phase 2 will include 5 funding themes:
- Program management (includes eligible staff costs)
- shared services hub
- digital Landcare solution
- state community of practice
- funding to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and leverage investment to increase Landcare’s self-sustenance and reduce reliance on direct NSW Government funding.
The funding application will need to clearly demonstrate effectiveness, efficiency, value for money and outcomes to be achieved. Please see phase 2 Program guidelines for full details.
This program is funded and administered by Local Land Services.

To be considered eligible for funding under the NSW Landcare Enabling Program 2023-2027: Enabling Services applications must include proof:
- of incorporation or company limited by guarantee, such as an incorporation number and/or certificate of incorporation or registration
- that the applicant is Landcare NSW Ltd and is a not-for-profit organisation
- of holding $20 million Public Liability Insurance for the term of the funding deed in the name of the Applicant
- that the applicant is financially viable and able to demonstrate that it is likely to remain so over the term of the funding deed, and
- that the applicant has an ABN.

The applicant will be assessed against the following merit assessment criteria and given a score out of 100.
Merit assessment criteria include:
1. level of impact to meet the needs of Landcare | (up to 20 points) |

Start the application
The Program will be a single stage application process. The applicant is required to submit their application and supporting documents into the Program’s online portal at the link below.
All supporting information provided must match the name of the applicant.
Applications cannot be reopened or amended once the closing date has passed.
After the application is submitted
Local Land Services will offer an enquiry session/s to the Applicant at a time that is convenient for both parties, and as early as possible after the grant opens.
An application will be assessed to determine the extent to which it is an efficient, effective, economical, and ethical use of funding and that it achieves value for money for the NSW Landcare Enabling Program.
Local Land Services will review the application against the eligibility and merit assessment criteria.
The outcomes and any recommendations of the assessment will be made via a team of assessors to an assessment panel, who may recommend part-funding of the application where there is insufficient justification for level of funding proposed.
Through the assessment process additional information or advice may be requested from the Applicant, other NSW Government agencies or third parties (such as probity advisors) to assist with the assessment of applications.
The Applicant will be notified of the additional information and supporting material required and the timeframe in which it is needed.
