Program objective
The one-off ad hoc grant will fund Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC) to deliver the CPCP Caring for Country Council Grants Program.
This grants program supports the delivery the CPCP Caring for Country – Aboriginal Outcomes Strategy 2024-33 which was released in April 2024.
The purpose of the grants program is to support councils to increase their capacity to deliver Caring for Country initiatives in partnership with the Traditional Custodians in their areas.
The program is available to the 8 local councils (Blacktown, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Penrith and Wollondilly) within the CPCP region and Blue Mountains City Council.
The one-off ad hoc grant is $1,402,180 comprising $232,180 to WSROC for administration of the program and $1,170,000 of grant funding.
This program is funded and administered by Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
Grant recipients
Recipients for this program were selected to meet the program objectives.
Eligible recipients were invited to participate and were required to meet the objectives.
Program evaluation
To meet the mandatory requirements the grant was assessed against the following criteria:
- ability to to deliver the project within the proposed timeframe and scope
- having sufficient capacity and expertise to deliver the project
- alignment with the NSW government objectives
- ability of the grant to achieve value for money
- Ability of the grant to provide community benefit.
The recipient of the grant demonstrates the ability to deliver the program against these criteria.
