Program objective
Applicants applying for a grant under Stream 2 will be considered for the allocation of funding to assist ACHPs with upgrading properties that are cheaper and quicker to fix than to rebuild.
This program is administered by Department of Communities and Justice.

Who can apply
The Applicant must be registered with the AHO, or willing to partner with an organisation who is registered with the AHO (See Partnering Organisation details).
Types of projects funded under this grant
Via the application process, an ACHP will be able to select funding via one of the following streams:
Stream 1 - Preliminary works and Development Application (DA) approval
Stream 2 - Upgrades to long-term vacant properties
Stream 3 - Shovel-ready new construction and pre-fabricated homes
Stream 4 - Acquisitions (from the open market).

Address the eligibility criteria
Each applicant, as part of an application response, must confirm that they meet the eligibility criteria.
Applicants that do not address the eligibility criteria in full may be excluded from the application process at the department's discretion.
Start the application
Via the application process, an ACHP will be able to select funding via one of the following streams:
Stream 1 - Preliminary works and Development Application (DA) approval
Stream 2 - Upgrades to long-term vacant properties
Stream 3 - Shovel-ready new construction and pre-fabricated homes
Stream 4 - Acquisitions (from the open market).
Applicants may apply multiple times if there are multiple projects / sites / locations. The Applicant will be given a new ID for each application.
There is no funding cap placed on applications.

After the application is submitted
Successful applications will be decided by: Famey Williams, Chief Executive, AHO
All applications will be assessed after the closing date of April 12 2024 by an Assessment Panel in-line with the Evaluation Plan. All applicants will be advised in writing of the outcome of the application/s after official internal sign-off of the panel's recommendations prior to 31 May 2024.
