If you wish to contribute to NSW communities affected by natural disasters, it is vital that you donate carefully.
Making unrequested donations into the affected areas can hinder recovery and rebuilding efforts.
You can donate goods or give financial support through the not-for-profit organisation GIVIT.

Register to volunteer
You can help by donating or volunteering time to:
- help with building or maintenance
- refer people to services and give them information
- visit people or offer social support.
Register at Emergency Support Volunteering. Your details will be passed on to organisations needing assistance.
Fundraising
If you are looking to fundraise, donate or offer financial support, read the advice on fundraising for a disaster to make sure you fundraise effectively.
If you suspect there is something wrong with the operation of a fundraiser, make a complaint with NSW Fair Trading.
GIVIT
GIVIT is a not-for-profit organisation that manages donations to make sure communities receive exactly what they need.
The GIVIT website lists items currently required by people affected by a disaster. You can select an item and choose to either donate or fund it.
You can also list an item for donation or give money that will be used to buy exactly what's needed.
BlazeAid
BlazeAid is a volunteer-based organisation. They work with families and individuals in rural Australia after a fire.
Volunteers help to rebuild fences and other structures that were damaged or destroyed.
Contact BlazeAid if you need help to clear, repair or replace fences that have been lost or if you would like volunteer or donate.
