Conversion of weeks
For consistency the rules are:Periods less than 13 weeks are to be treated as follows:
- less than 2 weeks – No allowance
- more than 2 weeks and less than 6 weeks is 1 month
- more than 6 weeks and less than 11 weeks is 2 months
- more than 11 weeks and up to 13 weeks is 3 months
For periods greater than 13 weeks:
- Calculate each 13 week period as 3 months, the balance is then treated as above.
Examples:
Period is 32 weeks | |
= (2 x 13) + 6 weeks | |
= 6 months + 1 month | |
Total allowed | = 7 months |
Period is 32 ½ weeks | |
= (2 x 13) + 6 ½ weeks | |
6 months + 2 months | |
Total allowed | = 8 months |
