On the application of the employer or the apprentice or trainee, the Commissioner for Vocational Training may extend the probationary period up to a maximum of 3 months beyond the initial period specified in the relevant Vocational Training Order, Vocational Training Guideline or Industrial Agreement.
The application must be lodged with the Commissioner at a Training Services NSW regional office before the Contract becomes binding.
Notice of the Commissioner's determination will be forwarded to both parties.
