Supporting Apprentices and Trainees in New South Wales
Where an Apprentice Connect Australia Provider is:
- advised by an employer that a learner may be at risk of self-harm; or
- advised by a learner that they are considering self-harm; or
- observe behaviour from a learner that they consider to be a concern to the safety of that learner,
they should endeavour to provide support through available mentoring and or other Apprentice Connect Australia Provider support services. They should also contact Training Services within 7 working days of receiving the advice, or noticing the behaviour, and provide details of the issue and particulars of any support being provided to the learner.
Any learner who is having difficulty and requires support, should also be advised to contact their GP, mental health expert or any of the support facilities listed below.
