What is the purpose of the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Roadmap?

The Apprenticeship and Traineeship (A&T) Roadmap will inform the strategic direction of the delivery of apprenticeships and traineeships in NSW over 2024-2026 and beyond. The Roadmap will ensure apprenticeship and traineeship delivery is efficient and effective going forward. It will help improve learning outcomes for apprentices and trainees, boost completion rates and ensure the NSW training system meets industry’s ongoing need for skills. 

The A&T Roadmap, through its 5 Strategic Pillars, aims to ensure:

• Effective and efficient delivery of apprenticeships and traineeships and learning pathways that respond to learner and industry needs and future demand.
• Maximum learner uptake of apprenticeships and traineeships.
• Optimal allocation of resources and learner supports to increase apprenticeship and traineeship completion rates.
• The training system has capacity to meet current and projected demand.
• Internal NSW training system processes support apprenticeship and traineeship delivery.
