Apply for a Working with Children Check
To meet your teacher accreditation requirements, you must hold a current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid employment. Find out how to apply if you have not previously had one.
Steps to apply for a WWCC
You need to apply for a new WWCC if you have not previously had one for paid employment.
1
Apply online with the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian (OCG)
Apply for a paid employment WWCC with the OCG. Note the WWCC process can take time.
2
Pay your fee with Service NSW
Visit a Service NSW centre to:
- provide your application number
- provide your identity documentation
- pay the fee for your WWCC application.
3
Check your notification from OCG
OCG will send you a confirmation email with your WWCC clearance details.
4
Update your NESA online account (eTAMS)
When the OCG emails your WWCC clearance, update your details in eTAMS.
It is important that your name is exactly the same on your WWCC and on eTAMS. Otherwise, NESA won't be able to verify your WWCC clearance and may suspend your teacher accreditation.
