Complete a Site Visit
Site Visit overview
Before you submit your second module you must complete a Site Visit. NESA assigns you an External Assessor to conduct the Site Visit.
You can complete a Site Visit in one of 2 ways:
- on-site
- recorded observation and an online interview with your principal/service director.
The requirements for both are the same.
Purpose of the Site Visit
The Site Visit is an opportunity to verify the demonstration of nominated Standard Descriptors through both teaching and non-teaching activities. You must still provide documentary evidence for your 20 Standard Descriptors across the 2 modules.
NESA trains all External Assessors. They provide an independent, objective review of your teaching practice in relation to the Standards at your nominated career stage.
What happens at the Site Visit
The Site Visit includes:
- An observation of 3 sessions of your practice across a single day. Two of these must be of you teaching students or children.
- A professional discussion between you and the External Assessor providing feedback on their observation of your practice in relation to the nominated Standard Descriptors.
- A 30-minute structured interview between your principal or service director and the External Assessor.
