Suspension of Indonesian and Literature Stage 6 and potential suspension of Indonesian Extension Stage 6 and Korean Continuers Stage 6
Indonesian and Literature Stage 6 will be suspended, and Indonesian Extension Stage 6 and Korean Continuers Stage 6 are at risk of suspension in 2026.

Indonesian and Literature Stage 6 will be suspended following the 2024 HSC exams due to continued low HSC candidature in 2022. (This official notice supersedes official notice NESA 7/22 published 4 March 2022.)
Indonesian Extension Stage 6 and Korean Continuers Stage 6 are at risk of suspension in 2026 due to their very low candidature in 2022.
NESA has determined that when the candidature of an HSC course falls below 15 for each of 3 consecutive years, the course will be suspended.
Should the final HSC candidature of the Indonesian Extension and/or the Korean Continuers course(s) fall below 15 in 2023 and 2024, the course(s) will be suspended following the 2025 HSC exams. If, at some time later, demand and sustainability increase to a level where the course(s) would again become viable as an HSC course, they may be reactivated.
