School registration manuals were amended and published following Deputy Premier approval in 2023 for implementation in January 2024.
The Deputy Premier approved amendments to the Manuals as rules of NESA.
The Manuals take effect 1 January 2024 by publication of this Official Notice.
Amendments include:
School registration and accreditation requirements set out in the Manuals have not changed. NESA consulted with each sector to clarify the required evidence of compliance.
Schools do not need to develop any new policies or procedures due to amendments to the Manual.
The amended non-government and government manuals are available now with a range of support materials.
New self-assurance audit tools are available for existing and proposed non-government schools. These complement NESA’s existing school registration support materials such as fact sheets and animations to help each school understand the requirements.
