The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) is now providing parents with a digitised version of the Guidelines for Home Schooling Registration in NSW (the Guidelines).
All references to curriculum and NESA syllabuses contained in the Guidelines refer to the current NESA syllabuses as published on the NESA website. NESA syllabuses are being developed and rolled out incrementally as part of the NSW Curriculum Reform. The Guidelines will be amended to reflect changes to curriculum and NESA syllabuses following the final release of all new NESA syllabuses.
The Guidelines were first published in 2017. The Guidelines replaced the previous Information Package.
Throughout 2019-2020, NESA conducted consultation about the Guidelines for Home Schooling Registration in NSW. In December 2021 amended Guidelines were published.
